Many voters are frustrated with our current leadership and want change, but not every candidate means good change.
Too many candidates give you non-answers on their websites and in their content hoping you get distracted by phrases every Republican stands for like, "transparency", "a leader who listens", or even just stating a problem and saying we need "good government", or "real solutions". Yes, you deserve all those things, but you deserve more than catchy slogans, and ads that stalk you. At least with our current leadership, you know what you are getting because he has been in office for 22 years.
As your candidate for Utah State Senate District 7, I am committed to principled and truly conservative leadership that puts the people first, defends our Constitution, and builds a prosperous future for Utah families and businesses through limiting government intervention and maximizing freedom.

Caucus/Convention System
I am the sole convention-only candidate remaining in this race. I made it on the primary ballot because many of your neighbors did the digging and believe I am the right fit to replace our current leader.
I believe in the convention system because it is a better filter than signature gathering. You elected delegates to represent your values and to dig into all of the candidates to determine which are good enough to make it to the primary. These delegates talked with each candidate and asked penetrating questions to find out which are best.
Whereas, with signature gathering, many who sign candidate signature packets are told to sign without doing any research on the candidate, and unfortunately, many do. Too many signature gathering candidates buy their way onto the ballot by paying individuals to gather signatures for them; individuals who often come from out of state, and who know nothing about the candidate or even how to pronounce their name.
Not every candidate who gathers signatures is bad, I have voted for some, but the signature path is not an adequate filter for primary ballot access.
As your senator, I will seek to strengthen the caucus/convention system and make attending and voting at caucus more accessible. We need stronger attendance at caucus so our delegates better represent their neighborhood.
Proposition 4 (Redistricting)
I oppose Prop 4. The Utah Constitution clearly gives the Legislature the power to draw congressional districts. That should be the end of the conversation, but for some (including some on our UT Supreme Court) that isn't enough.
The Legislature is directly elected by the people. If the maps they draw do not represent the voters, vote them out! The people you elect can then vote in new maps. If the Redistricting Commission draws unfair maps, it is more difficult to repair the damage because we would have to un-elect current leadership and hope the new commission appointees are better and choose to draw different maps; no direct say.
Prop 4 needs to be repealed.
Defending the Constitution and Federalism
The Constitution is the foundation of our freedoms and the key to limited government. I will zealously guard the separation of powers and defend federalism against overreach. This means protecting state sovereignty, ensuring checks and balances, and preserving the rights of Utahns from excessive federal intrusion. I will work closely with the Attorney General to challenge the federal government's current overreach.
Reducing Government Overreach
Excessive regulation and spending stifle opportunity and innovation. I will work to minimize unnecessary government interference, cut wasteful spending, and promote responsible policies that allow small businesses to thrive, create jobs, and help families prosper.
Protecting Families and Life
The family is the fundamental unit of society. I am unapologetically pro-life and committed to policies that protect the unborn, empower parents, strengthen families, and defend life at every stage with compassion and support.
Education and School Choice
Every child deserves a high-quality education. Our society is built on the education of our children and their education is of vital importance. I support expanding school choice, empowering parents as the primary decision-makers, and keeping education decisions local to meet the unique needs of our communities—free from federal overreach.
Our public school teachers deserve to be paid and rewarded for their hard work and dedication to our children.
Second Amendment Rights
The right to keep and bear arms is a fundamental constitutional protection. I will staunchly defend the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Utahns to protect themselves, their families, and their property.
Natural Resources
Utah’s land, water, and natural resources are blessings that deserve responsible stewardship. I believe good stewardship starts with individuals, families, farmers, ranchers, and local communities—not unnecessary government control.
Government has a limited but important role in protecting property rights, enforcing clear and equally applied standards, and ensuring that measurable costs are not subsidized by society. Regulations should be limited to protect individual freedom and must be based on predictable and real impacts, not politics or barriers to growth.
Utah can protect our natural resources while preserving individual liberty and supporting agriculture, responsible development, and economic opportunity.
