Background

Braden is a descendent of faithful pioneers who helped settle Farmington and other areas. Braden was born in Layton and raised in Kaysville where he spent his summers as a boy exploring the Kaysville ponds, swimming at Cherryhill, or riding rollercoasters at Lagoon. As a descendent of school teachers and farmers, Braden learned that good communities are built on hard work, sacrifice, and compassion.

Education

Braden went to Davis High School where he served as Student Body Vice President, acted in Advanced Theater, and played football. He graduated from Davis High School as a fourth generation Dart. Braden then served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the England Birmingham Mission where he learned the value of establishing and defending morals, diligence, positivity in hardship (amid a continuous 2yr downpour of English rain), and never giving up.

After serving his mission, Braden graduated from Utah State University with two Bachelor's degrees, Economics and Political Science. After which, Braden earned his Juris Doctorate and joined the Utah Bar.

Career

Throughout his undergraduate education, Braden worked for former Utah State Representative Edward Redd of Cache Valley during the 2018 legislative session where he learned the basics of how the Utah legislature functions and what it takes to be a legislator. Braden then interned for Congressman Chris Stewart in Washington D.C. where he learned how to communicate with constituents with clarity and full transparency. Later, Braden worked for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints European Union office to build relationships with Europeans from every country and religious background, and helped organize tours of the newly constructed Italy Rome temple for European religious leaders.

During law school, Braden was a professor's research assistant and helped establish the framework for a program to help inner-city children to establish positive relationships with law enforcement. Braden also worked for two Utah law firms, an estate planning and business formation centered firm, and a criminal defense firm.

After graduating law school, Braden worked for the Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel advising Utah legislators on the Constitution and drafting bills for legislative sessions. Braden left the legislature to run for office and to start his own law firm, Latitude Legal PLLC, that focuses on estate planning and business formation. Braden also works as a realtor.

Family

Braden married his high school sweetheart, Carla Tomlinson. Together they live in Kaysville and have four rambunctious, energetic boys: Weston, Elijah, Charles, and newborn Dean. Braden enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, reading, hiking, watching movies, and helping others.
